This project assisted me in understanding the true value of the grid transfer drawing method. The goal was to transfer the image from a magazine onto the canvas marked by grids. I was able to quickly draw square by square as accurately as possible utilizing the grid transfer. I realized I am quite efficient at free hand drawing and can understand proportions quite adequate. Using my strengths, I focused on the elements in the magazine image that I understood the best and saved the hardest until the very end. The three center piece horses were the most difficult elements for me to draw. 

               This assignment allowed me to better understand shading and shadow placement; along with the techniques to implement these into a drawing. I understood the balance aspect of interchanging amongst our drawing pencils. I utilized the 2B, 3B and 6B pencils the most for shading. The lighter elements were done using the H and F drawing pencils. Shading has been by far my greatest weakness when drawing. This assignment’s result encompasses my growth throughout the semester thus far. My drawing accuracy and depiction has improved immensely.
